SS Fluent
Fluent SS was a 3,569 ton British Cargo Steamer.
built in 1911.
On the 20th July 1917 when on route from New York for London she was torpedoed by German submarine UC-65 and sunk. All 29 crew escaped.
It’s a Large wreck, more or less upright. Gun at the stern. Three boilers and a cargo forward of what look like shells - they are in fact steel billets. Lies off the Isle of Wight, English Channel in 42 metres.
She leans slightly over and has collapsed to starboard. The 3 large boilers are the most prominent and are the highest parts of the wreck.
Qualification: Advanced Open Water with Deep Speciality and DSMB or Equivalent.
