Jorge Cruz Lambert

Nobody expected the Spaniard… diving in the UK!
Born in one of the driest cities in southern Spain, far from the sea, Jorge’s underwater journey began with a snorkeling trip to Almería. That first glimpse of the marine world left him wanting more, and a birthday gift—a Discover Scuba Diving course—gave him the perfect excuse to stay beneath the waves a little longer.
From that moment on, there was no turning back. He earned his Open Water certification in 2011 in the Mediterranean, followed by his Advanced Open Water qualification in Croatia.
Moving to the UK might have meant colder waters, but it didn’t dampen his passion for diving. He joined Poole Diving and continued his training, completing his Rescue Diver certification. Before long, taking the plunge into professional diving became inevitable. As a Divemaster, Jorge successfully tackled a range of challenges, from mastering one-fin techniques to scouting and setting up buoys at unexpected new dive sites. Now he shares his passion for diving teaching as an Open Water Scuba Instructor.
His love for the ocean extends beyond diving—so much so that he proposed underwater! Many joked that doing it beneath the waves was a clever strategy to avoid hearing "No" from his girlfriend. Luckily, she said "Yes," and they celebrated their honeymoon in true diver fashion—aboard a liveaboard in the Maldives.
Jorge is passionate about UK diving and sees it as an opportunity for growth and adventure: "The waters here challenge and refine your skills, but they also offer something truly extraordinary—a time machine into history, where shipwrecks whisper stories of the past beneath the waves."
You’ll spot him among the crew — he’s the one rocking a hood all year round!
