Dive the Wrecks of Scapa Flow.
Availability: Contact us for booking information
We have booked MV Huskyan for the Poole Divers 2026 Scapa Flow Trip.
At this point we have 9 saying YES. Because we are all Tech, 10 is the Boats maximum divers permitted.
We need to be in Kirkwall on Orkney for Sunday the 18 October 2026 with diving on the 19-23 October 2026 then we depart Kirkwall on Saturday 24 October 2026.
Then there is just the little time that we will need to spend getting to and from the Orkney Islands. It is a fair old drive! We depart Very early, whilst it is still dark, on Saturday the 17 October 2026. Stay at a hotel well up into Scotland that evening. Then get to the Ferry for the trip across on the 18 October 2026
Hold onto your hats but please keep reading. Trip Very Estimated Price is £2100.00.
What we are looking to include is:-
- Transport to and from Scapa Flow in the Orkney Islands for both you and your kit.
- Ferry both ways from Scotland to the Orkney’s.
- Land Based Accommodation in No15 at Kirkwall. (This is for 13 people so we should have a bit of room)
- There are between dive snacks and warm drinks included.
- Tea and Coffee on tap in the Galley.
- We want a Tour memento, I am thinking a Sweatshirt, but certainly something you will want to wear and show off afterwards.
- We spend the Kitty money until it is gone whenever we are as a group.
For many of you this amount of commitment is a bit of a leap of faith, but logistically the trip organisation is a nightmare for Kev. We have had to book MV Huskyan now to secure the week, but we can’t book, or even know the costs of the Ferries in 2026. Can’t tell you how we are getting there as until we know who is coming and what vehicle options we have, we simply don’t know. No idea of hotels or pricing for 2026 for the overnight either. How much is fuel going to cost in 2026? And these are just a couple of the issues. But every other year since 2010 we seem to pull it off!
What is NOT INCLUDED?
- Each Diver will have to pay their own Gas bill at the end of the week, direct to the Skipper. As we will all use different Gas this is the only way we have found to be fair.
- Food and Beer is not included.
- Any money we have left from our trip costs is spent as a group. If we are not a group the kitty closes and you buy your own
- You will need to make sure you have your own relevant Insurances for the Trip.
Payment will be a Deposit of £500.00 to secure your place then we can make individual arrangements as we incur costs or commitments or s you have funds available.
You have booked your space so it is yours. You will be expected to pay in full should you pull out, unless we can find a suitable replacement.
With who is booked on we believe Minimum qualification is PADI Tec45, or similar from other Agencies. Minimum equipment tank wise will be a Twinset and an Ally 40, (5.7Ltr) Stage.
RULES
Rule ONE. This is primarily a Dive Trip, not a party, but we need to have loads fun. If you get to drunk the night before the Skipper, Emily, Ian & Kev will ask you not to dive!!! Having a few beers is all part of the trip however, and over the years we have discovered quite a few Jekyll and Hyde characters.
Rule TWO. Every dive we do MUST be available to every diver on the boat. If you choose to do deco or go over the edge deeper, and stay in the water longer that is up to you, but you must be qualified, and we cannot tell porky pies about your certifications, they may be checked.
Rule THREE. All Dive equipment must be in service status.
Rule FOUR. That’s enough!
What dives will we do? Best here just to refer you to the web site of MV Huskyan https://www.huskyan.com/diving/scapa-flow-dive-sites Once we know the divers coming I will advise the Skipper and she plan the week subject to weather and what other boats on the flow are doing. The boats tend to talk to each other so we are not all on the same wreck.
Other stuff: -
We will have time to get out and about a bit on Orkney. Kev just loves the Italian Chapel, or is it the Distillery next door? We try and get to stop one day between Dives at the Scapa Museum, sounds dull but really, it is not. Then there are the Old Buildings, underground. Older than Stonehenge and the standing stones, so loads to do. We get to these places by a special conversion to one of the vehicles we take the kit over in. We fit specialist seats to the floor in the back!!
So, the above gives you a taste of the trip. It tends to develop as we know who is coming and when people start asking questions that we have not covered.
This is all non-refundable people.
